Alnwick Town 2-0 Heaton Stannington

December 31, 2014

Alnwick Town ended 2014 with a win, their first since the middle of November, at home to Heaton Stannington.

The club also recorded their first clean sheet of the 2014-2015 season in the process.

In the end it was a comfortable victory for the home side, helped by early injuries to the away side and not enough substitutes to cover the losses.

Goals from Stephen Hogg and Tony Brown in the late stages of first half gave Alnwick a 2 goal cushion, and it would have been 3 but Adam Shanks missed a penalty.

Second half saw Alnwick lack the final ball to increase their lead, and Heaton created some chances but Sean Straker wasn't to be beaten.

The club would like to thank all of the fans for their support in 2014. We hope to see you back at St James' Park in 2015.
