Alnwick Ease To Victory Against Lawyers
Alnwick Town got back to winning ways with a comfortable win away to Tow Law Town.
Alnwick went into the game with a small squad, and had to call upon Lee Dundas and Kenny Collins from the reserves, who both started the game.
In a game blighted by high winds the visitors found themselves a goal down to a speculative effort early in the game which beat goalkeeper Straker.
The lead was short lived though, as Kenny Collins got his first goal for the club to bring the scores level.
Alnwick soon took the lead, with Stephen Hogg keeping a cool head to take the ball round the keeper and into the net to give Alnwick a 2-1 lead at half time.
The away side got their 3rd thanks to a header from Darren Riddell, and the result was never really in doubt. Alnwick could have extended their lead further but efforts by Brown, Hogg, Shanks and Collins were all denied.
The result was a good response to the sad news earlier in the week with the passing of club legend Clive Burn. The club would like to place on record their thanks to Tow Law Town for arranging the minute silence before kick off.
