Unbeaten Run Comes To And End

Alnwick Town's 5 match unbeaten run came to an end as Northallerton Town came from a goal down to take the 3 points back to Yorkshire.

Danny Lowes gave Alnwick the lead just before half time with a cracking strike on the half volley from the edge of the box.

Alnwick had also hit the bar and tested the visiting keeper in the first 45 minutes and were deserving of their lead.

2nd half was a different story, and Northallerton improved. The visitors were back on level terms through the penalty spot after Gloire Mbiavanga brought an attacker down in the box. The visitors then won it with what appeared to be a toe-poke from distance, which flew into the top corner giving goalkeeper Straker no chance.

The home side felt they should have been given a way back into the game, with the visiting keeper clearly handling outside his penalty area, but the assistant wasn't up with play and didn't agree.
