F.A Vase Draw

July 3, 2015

Alnwick Town face a trip down the A19 to face Billingham Synthonia in the F.A Vase 1st Qualifying Round.

The last time the sides met was in 2012 in the Northern League Cup 3rd Round, with the Synners running out 6-1 winners.

Manager Jon Egen has given his thoughts on the draw.

"It's one of those draws! A lot of easier ones could have been given, but it's still a very winnable game against a team relegated in the Summer."

"Synner's pitch is always tip top so that will suit us too as it'll play a similar style to ours."

"Whereas the F.A Cup comes very early, we will have played half a dozen games by then so no excuses."

"Hopefully another local derby awaits if we are lucky to progress, with Nicky and his Morpeth team our possible opponents."

The F.A Vase tie away to Billingham Synthonia is due to be played on Saturday 5th September 2015.
