Alnwick Town 2 - 1 Crook Town
Alnwick Town came from a goal down to secure 3 deserved points against Crook Town on Saturday.
The away side took the lead shortly after half-time from the penalty spot, after captain Tom Macpherson was judged to have brought down the Crook attacker.
Alnwick were level 10 minutes later though, when man of the match James Jackson chased a backpass down, causing the goalkeeper all sorts of problems, and managed to score from a tight angle.
5 minutes from time, Alnwick's hardwork paid off, and a great cross into the box was volleyed home by Ross Gair for his first goal for the club.
Manager Jon Egen afterwards said, "I'm chuffed to bits for the lads as this one is down to their hardwork and self-belief and a never say die attitude which we will need call upon time after time this season. I was pleased for Mins and Gairza to grab a goal each today as they are working hard to improve as individuals and to help the team grow as a group."
