Billingham Synthonia 2 - 2 Alnwick Town (AET)

September 6, 2015

Alnwick were denied in stoppage time of the 90 minutes, with Billingham Synthonia forcing a replay on Tuesday night at St James' Park.

Billingham took an early lead, with deputising goalkeeper Nisbet lobbed in the first few minutes.

Alnwick drew level though through Jordan Miller, who scored his 2nd goal in as many games to draw the sides level.

BIllingham had chances and hit the woodwork on 3 different occasions, but couldn't get the ball in the net.

Alnwick led a few minutes after half-time. Kieran Hogg got past the full-back, and his low, drilled in cross was guided home by Chris Glass for Alnwick's 2nd of the game.

Chances came and went for both sides, Glass having the best for Alnwick but the keeper saved 1 on 1.

It was in stoppage time when a Billingham effort managed to creep in at the far post.

Extra time failed to find a winner, but the game provided plenty of injuries for both sides. The most serious occured before the game, with the Billingham first choice keeper being injured in the warm-up and an ambulance was required. The club wish him a speedy recovery.

Manager Jon Egen said, "We said to the lads before the game to make sure we didn't lose the game so to concede in the 92nd minute is not nice, but we weren't in it till the 2nd half so we'll go again Tuesday night. 3 more injuries though making 8 out at present is worrying, but we have a side good enough."
