Alnwick Town 3 - 4 Ryhope Colliery Welfare
A late winner for the away side denied Alnwick a share of the spoils having fought back from 3-0 down.
It was a 45 minutes to forget in the first half for the home side, with Ryhope heading in at the break 3 goals up. Two of them freekicks, the first of which Glasper will be disappointed not to have dealt with better, the other was simply too hot to handle.
2nd half, Alnwick Town came out a completely different side. Captain Tony Brown brought Alnwick back into the game with a thunderbolt into the top corner with his 'weaker' left foot.
Confidence clearly began to grow, and a penalty to the home side was converted by Tony Brown for his 2nd of the game, and Alnwick were right back in it.
Substitute David Brown brought the scores level, his effort eventually going in after hitting both posts, sparking celebrations on the sidelines.
He almost put the home side ahead, but the visiting keeper somehow kept an effort out with his legs.
James Jackson was then brought down and no foul given. With all subs used, Alnwick ended the game with 10 men.
With the clock ticking, the away side grabbed the winner. A long ball was flicked on, and a shot was deflected into the bottom corner. A devastating blow to the home side, whose 2nd half performance had deseved a point.
