Chester-le-Street Town 8 - 0 Alnwick Town

Alnwick crashed to defeat in Adam Laidlaw's first game in charge away to promotion chasing Chester-le-Street Town.

Chester, placed 2nd in the league and well placed for a return to the 1st Divison, inflicted Alnwick's heaviest defeat of the season.

The away side were without a number of players due to injuries and unavailability.

Goalscorers for the home side were Ben Johnson (10'), Lee Mole (22', 42'), Scott Heslop (44', 69', 90'), Andrew Grant-Soulsby (57'), Joe Hamblin (87').

Alnwick will be hoping to make amends on Tuesday night, when they return to Moor Park for Ernest Armstrong Cup action.
