Second Chester test in 4 days for Alnwick

November 23, 2015

After Chester-Le-Street ran out 8-0 winners in the league on Saturday, Adam Laidlaw and his side will be looking to bounce back in the Ernest Armstrong Cup on tomorrow as we make the trip back to Moor Park writes Media Officer Mark Craggs.

It wasn’t the best start to the new regime as the Cestrians put eight past us as they continue to stay as close to South Shields as possible. Alnwick haven’t moved after the defeat, still sitting 17th in the League behind Whickham.

Chester-Le-Street’s main man Scott Heslop continued his challenge for the golden boot, netting three on Saturday to take his league tally to 21 goals as he looks to help his team to the Northern League Division 1.

Hopefully with the knowledge of the last game the inform striker can be stopped tomorrow night as attention turns to the cup. This is the first game in Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup and it will be another tough ask, but hopefully those players missing on Saturday.

Kick-off is 7:30pm tomorrow at Moor Park, weather permitting. Come and get behind the lads to help them bounce back from Saturday’s defeat.
