Alnwick face Esh in Big Game
Alnwick face an Esh Winning side that sit below us in the table but have picked up points in recent games, gaining four in the last six, as we travel to West Terrace on Saturday.
Tomorrow’s opposition sit in 21st place, four places and nine points behind Alnwick. As mentioned early, according to the form guide Esh have picked up four points from six games. However, the four points have come over the last two fixtures with the remaining four all being heavy defeats to South Shields, Easington, Tow Law and Darlington RA. We met each other earlier in the season with the game at St. James’ Park, seeing Town running out 4-1 winners.
Alnwick will be wanting and expecting to bounce back from the 14 goals conceded in two games to Chester-Le Street. Town should be able to come away with a victory after a performance that was better than the 6-1 performance suggests in the midweek against Chester. Also, the chances are increased by a lessening injury crisis that affected the team in the two last games.
The game is a 3pm kick-off at Esh Winning’s West Terrace stadium, weather permitting with a poor looking forecast. Come along and support Laidlaw’s men to the first win of a new era.
