Alnwick Look To Get Back On Track at Birtley

January 1, 2016

After a big defeat at home to Heaton Stannington in the week, Alnwick will want to improve at Birtley.

Alnwick sit above Birtley in the table, and this is definitely the best chance to pick the points since the start of Adam Laidlaw’s reign. However Birtley are above Town in the form guide, which we currently sit bottom of picking up no points in the last 6 games. Having said that Birtley haven't fared much better, picking up only 1 point over the same period.

The last meeting between the two sides was an entertaining affair with the game finishing 3-3 at St. James’ back in September. Alnwick will be hoping to go one better and pick up all three in Birtley’s back yard and should have some confidence. Thomas Butler has impressed in his first two games and we are still to see all of Jonathyn Quinn’s capabilities.

Make the trip to Birtley with the lads and help give them a kickstart to the season. Kick off is 3pm at Birtley Sports Complex.
