Billingham Town Up Next for Alnwick

For the first time since the 4-0 defeat to Heaton Stannington on December 29th, Alnwick will hope to take to the field as they welcome Billingham Town to St. James' Park, writes Media Officer Mark Craggs.

Tomorrow's opposition sit 12th in the Northern League Division 2 table, losing three and winning two of their last six games and haven’t played since the 19th of last month. The stand out player for Billingham Town is Craig Hutchinson who has netted 10 goals in league play this term.

Alnwick will be hoping the restart to the season will bring a change in fortune after eight defeats and one draw in the last nine games that sees them lingering at the bottom of the form guide although they sit in 17th in the league. This could be the game that kick starts Adam Laidlaw’s reign with a fresh start where it's likely the form guide could go out of the window with almost four weeks without a game. Confidence could be built by the fact that a 3-0 win in Alnwick’s favour last time these two sides met, with Chris Glass and a James Jackson double securing the win back in August.

Tomorrow’s game also sees the #footballselfie competition taking place with a shirt of our affiliate club Frontier FC of Buffalo, USA up for grabs. Kick-off is set for 3pm at St. James’ Park, let’s bring a big crowd to the first game of the season.
