Alnwick back at home for Willington clash

March 4, 2016

After the massive disappointments of both Saturday and Wednesday past, Alnwick will want to put on a good display against fellow strugglers Willington writes Media Officer Mark Craggs.

Saturday’s opponents Willington sit in 18th position of the Northern League 2 table, joint on points with Alnwick, with the two sides separated by two goals in goal difference. The last time the two sides met was the 10th October last year when Alnwick took all three points with a 3-2 win over the Blue and Whites. The County Durham side won their midweek clash beating Darlington RA 2-1 at home which ended a three game losing streak.

Alnwick will be wanting all three points to make up for the two dropped on Wednesday after losing a two goal lead and needing a late minute equaliser to salvage anything from the game. Alnwick will have a decent squad for Saturday’s clash, with a second opportunity for a debut for winger Dominic Schiavetta who watched Wednesday’s draw from the bench.

Come along and support the lads in another relegation six pointer, kick off is 3pm at St. James’ Park.
