Alnwick Town Find Forgotten Cup Win

Following some researching of the late Clive Burns' personal collection, it has been discovered that a cup win has been missed from the Alnwick Town honours list!

A trophy with the inscription 'N.A.M.H.A CUP WINNERS 1958-59' was found amongst Clive's trophy collection. After looking through Clive's scrapbooks, it was discovered that the club had won the Aged Miners Cup for the 2nd time in their history.

Alnwick Town have previously won this trophy in 1936/37, but more research is required into this due to Blyth Spartans and Morpeth Town also winning the trophy this season.

A big thanks once again to Clive's family for allowing the club to see some of the history of Alnwick Town. Without Clive's collection, it is likely this honour would not have been found.

The club will be setting up a page on this website dedicated to Clive Burn and his collection in the near future. It is through his collection that the story of the club will be told for years to come.
