Macaulay Langstaff would score the only goal of the game in the 35th minute, drilling home a shot past Glasper.
Samuel Pérez, making his home debut, was sent off just before half time for a push on a Synthonia defender, reacting to a poor challenge in the penalty area and then actions afterwards. The club are looking to appeal the decision to the Northumberland FA.
In the 2nd half Alnwick restricted Synthonia to limited opportunities and can be pleased with the way they continued to play with only 10 men.
Synthonia were also reduced to 10 men in the final seconds, Connor Winter with a straight red for an attempted elbow on substitute Jakes Lowes.
