AGM - Sunday 14th May 2017 6pm

April 19, 2017

Please note that the Alnwick Town Football Club Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 14th May 2017 at 6pm in the clubhouse.

Message from the secretary:

"Join an expanding and ambitious Club in the next exciting phase taking place in 2017/2018 and beyond.  Come to our AGM on Sunday 14th May 2017 starting at 6pm in the clubhouse.

As this Club has grown from the ashes some 10 years ago, the Club has improved the ground, floodlights, clubhouse, playing pitch and let’s not forget the second part of the equation the players/teams.

There was only one Senior and two Junior teams and there will be three Senior teams soon (Reserves reforming in 2017/2018).  The Juniors are now up to 18-plus teams (boys and girls).  In the 2017/2018 season there will be a women’s team, which the Club has never had before.  The Reserves will be part of the Junior Administration.  We also have a first class Commercial Manager.

There will be a new Alnwick Town Juniors Football Complex at Greensfield with a set of changing rooms 3G pitch with floodlights and three grass pitches.  The main ground will see the final adjustments to the new floodlights now up to Conference level.  We have a good management team/coaches and back-up physio team (one of the best qualified).  We are erecting a Youth Club/Junior clubhouse inside our ground to be used also by other community groups, plus our hospitality to visitors.  The Junior clubhouse measures 45ft x 20ft, and is a substantial building which has been donated to the Club by Her Grace the Duchess of Northumberland.  Community groups that are interested to use it, please contact our Secretary.

The other part that makes a good club that is equally important are facilities/teams and a wide range of supporting functions, IT, communications, web, twitter, email address, programmes plus other aspects that complete our well run back up but as this field expands needs immediate additional bodies and in this area needs to be computer/IT literate.

That is where we are and to move onto a new phase we need more committee/match day helpers.  We play in the Ebac Northern League Division II, FA Vase, Northumberland Senior Cup and League Cups.  We play in Level 6 of the National Pyramid System and have a ground that matches the requirements of that level and are inspected every year and floodlight levels are checked every two years.

We have an AGM on the 14th May 2017 in the clubhouse, starting at 6pm, so if you feel you can contribute in some way come along and talk to us or phone me prior to this on 0191 2366456.

We have bigger plans for the whole Club but that is some 5/6 years in planning so at least come and see us or phone or email me (uk2usa@hotmail.co.uk).  Whatever you want to do there is help and let’s not forget this is not just addressed to the male population but the ladies in our community are as important for all aspects including playing and forming their own Committee and to serve on the main Committee if they want to; either way to keep us men in order and a Club with a ladies committee is always a better club for it.  So if you are connected to football through Senior, Juniors or have an interest in community issues contact me."
