Police Called To Sporting Clubs

Due to issues at Alnwick Town Football Club and Alnwick Cricket Club so far during the Summer Holidays, police have been called to the area to deal with some damage that has been caused.

A large group of youths have been seen in the area on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, culminating in police being called due to damage occuring at both the football and cricket club.

Damage has been caused to the angle of one of our training goals, which had been moved over the pitchside barrier and onto the pitch on Saturday afternoon. Rubbish has also been left following the Thursday and Friday, with broken glass bottles around by the dugouts.

The Cricket Club have suffered damage to their pitch covers, with holes being burnt through in some places.

Both clubs are ran by volunteers who give up their own time to provide sporting clubs for the town of Alnwick.

If anyone has any information regarding the incidents between Thursday and Saturday, please get in touch or contact Northumbria Police on 101. Thank You.
