Matty Graham and Paul Stoneman Snr came into the starting 11 following their completed registrations the previous day.
After a positive opening 10 minutes where Alnwick looked comfortable in possession, playing out from the back and frustrating their opponents in the final third, it took an individual error in the 13th minute to bring the opening goal.
Full back Lee Dundas' attempted header back to the keeper was short, and the experienced Paul Chow made no mistake to put the home side ahead. A genuine mistake and not something to dwell on. (1-0)
The goal spurred the home side into action though, and Alnwick struggled to cope with Hebburn's pace coming forward, and it was 2-0 after 18 minutes, that man again Paul Chow heading home his 2nd of the game. (2-0).
It was 3 just a couple of minutes later, this time Gary Shaw's cross come shot managed to bobble into the bottom corner. (3-0)
Alnwick were struggling to create chances against a very well organised Hebburn side, and it was 4-0 10 minutes before half-time. Brooks' was clattered as he attempted to punch clear, but Donaghy was able to head in for Hebburn. (4-0)
It was almost 5 before half-time, but a free-kick for the home side hit the side of the post.
Manager Richie Mitchell was dismissed from the technical area in the first half by referee Downey, following an incident involving captain Andrew Keenan being on the receiving end of an elbow and having to replace his bloodied shirt in the process.
The 2nd half was a much quieter affair, with Hebburn having done what they needed to in the first half. Paul Chow would get his hat-trick in stoppage time from the penalty spot, Ross Straughan bringing down a Hebburn winger in the box. (5-0)
A deserved win for the home side, Alnwick didn't create enough in the game and have to start looking at keeping a clean sheet to get themselves back on track.
