Alnwick Town 1 - 4 Easington Colliery

April 28, 2018

A half time lead disappeared as Alnwick couldn't build on Thursday night's impressive away win at Willington.

Alnwick Town 1-4 Easington Colliery
Wilson J (22m)   Vincent D (47, 54m)
    Middleton K (76m)
Attendance: 54   Pounder J (82m)

Jonny Wilson scored his first goal of the season following a long lay-off with injury in the first half, rounding the visiting keeper to put Alnwick ahead at half time.

Easington upped their game in the 2nd half, but even they will have to admit that the scoreline has flattered them as Alnwick had plenty of chance to reduce the deficit or take something from the game. The lads involved can hold their heads high though, especially our young lads Pickard, Threlfall and Cravagan who have turned out week after week when squad numbers have been low. These games in the Northern League will benefit them in years to come as they gain more experience in adult football.

We face Ryton & Crawcrook Albion at home on Monday night, where only a win will do as we hold onto hope of getting off the bottom of the table.

Team: Hodgson R, Laviers A, Pickard J, Brown T, Scott P, Lowes D, Westphal K, Wilson J, Riddell D, Laidlaw C (Cravagan L), Lowes J (Threlfall J).
Unused: Purvis S
