Clive Burn Memorial Bench Unveiled
Alnwick Town were proud to unveil a memorial bench for Clive Burn before Saturday's game v Chester-le-Street Town to his family at St James' Park.
Clive's family had kindly sponsored the game in his memory, and the club planned to mark the occasion with a game close to what would have been Clive's birthday by unveiling a memorial bench in his name. Thanks to Clive's daughter Fiona, this was all a surprise for his wife Eileen.
A big thank you to all that helped with the bench, most namely Peter Roper for doing all the hard work, along with Joe Roper and Neil Patten. The bench was purchased from MKM thanks to funds raised from the club's weekly Letter Draw, so thank you to all who have been taking part in that.
The bench is located in the top corner of the ground along the car park wall. The sun was out on Saturday to show that it has a cracking view point to watch a game.
Clive Burn gave up countless hours of his time spanning decades for Alnwick Town Football Club. This is the least that the club could do to mark the great man's legacy at St James' Park. He sadly passed away 8th April 2015.
