Manager's Thoughts

August 11, 2018
Ahead of today's season opener , Manager Paul Yeadon has given us his thoughts on pre-season. "We're looking forward to the season ahead in the Alliance Premier after being relegated from the Northern League. It gives us an opportunity to rebuild and start again. We have added a lot of players to the squad over pre-season and this will take a while for these players to understand each other and roles with in the team." "Pre-season has went well and we have been working closely with our development squad to create a clear pathway from juniors to the senior team. Myself and Ben have been impressed with the players within the development squad and the attitude they have shown over the last few weeks." "The juniors are creating a great environment for players to develop and we have several exciting young players at u17s, u16s and u15s and we look forward to working with these over the next few seasons." "This season is going to be a challenge for the group of young players that we have put together and we are looking for mid table finish, a good cup run and try to spring a surprise or 2 in the FA Vase. Hopefully we can get the buzz back around the club that has been missing for a few years." "I would like to wish all the teams in our area the best of luck with their upcoming seasons." Alnwick Town travel to North Shields Athletic today, kick off is 2:30pm.
