Manager's Thoughts - 10 Games In

September 19, 2018

Men's 1st Team manager Paul Yeadon has given some of his thoughts, 10 games into the 2018/19 season.

"The games have been coming fast and it's took its toll on some of the players, with Brad (McClelland), Jamie (Dixon) and Joe Pickard out for a few weeks with injuries. We have had to strengthen the squad over the last few weeks bringing in Jack Henderson and Thomas Slack, who are both young players that can develop in the environment we are creating. We welcomed experienced centre forward Danny Donohoe back to the club who has made a big impact in games from the bench so far.

With the midweek games coming to an end this week we can look to get back on the training pitch, our next 3 fixtures are going to be very tough games but once again the players know what is expected of them and hopefully we can compete with these teams.

We continue to create a strong link from juniors to development to seniors with Owen Johnson and Thomas Forster stepping up to the first team squad. Paul Muers is still impressing Ben and I with his attitude towards the first team.

With the junior season under way I popped along to watch our U15's play Cramlington Town, it was good to see local lads playing football in the right way and them being supported well by a good crowd. All the best to all the juniors this season.

Big thanks to MKM for providing the 1st team with training tops and match day polo shirts and also Jo for coming along to treat the players in her spare time."

Tonight's match at home to Seaton Delaval was postponed due to weather conditions. Next up we face Newcastle University on Saturday at St James' Park.
