Cunningham C (18, 29m)   Hobbs J (15m)
Douglas R (50m)   Jukes R (78m)

Alnwick Town will host Newcastle East End in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

John Hobbs headed the visitors into the lead in the 15th minute. This after Alnwick had hit the post through Brad McClelland, and had a Scott Maddison goal disallowed for offside.

Debutant Cameron Cunningham then struck twice with almost identical goals in the 18th and 29th minutes. Left foot into the corner of the net on both occasions.

Half Time 2-1 to the hosts.

Ryan Douglas scored from close range on his return to the club the make it 3-1 in the 50t minute.

A host of substitutions followed, including Scott Maddison being replaced to attend the birth of his newborn. Congrats from everyone at the club!

Recce Jukes reduced the deficit in the 78th minute to ensure a nervy finish to make it 3-2.

Brad McClelland almost secured the victory when through 1 on 1, but his effort was just wide of the post.

All in all a good game of football, Hebburn despite being from the league below more than held their own for periods of the game.
